CR DE Wet

Christiaan Rudolf de Wet, born on 7 October 1854, was a Boer general, rebel leader and politician. As a general he led Boer forces against the British in the Anglo-Boer War, in which he was one of the most prominent Boer generals, and he remained active in politics after the war. He afterwards wrote his own account of the conflict, which in Afrikaans appears as Die Stryd tussen Boer en Brit, listed here. The original was first published in Dutch in 1902.

De Wet died on 3 February 1922.
