Hilary Norman is a British novelist born in London. After early work as an actress and in radio production, she turned to fiction; her debut, In Love and Friendship (1986), became a New York Times bestseller and appeared in seventeen languages. She wrote several family sagas before moving into psychological suspense and thrillers, the territory of Blind Fear (2000), in which a guide-dog trainer in New York State is drawn towards a blind sculptor while a killer holds a young woman captive.
As of 2026 Norman lives in London and continues to write. Her twenty-sixth novel, Prey, a dual-timeline thriller set in the Blitz and in 2019, was published by Severn House in October 2024, with a paperback edition following in April 2025.
